Greetings Idlewild Families,

At Idlewild Elementary, we are proud to be an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The IB is a leader in international education, developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Through the IB framework, students are empowered to take ownership of their learning while developing the future-ready skills needed to thrive and make a positive difference in our rapidly changing world.

Below are some important reminders:

Morning Arrival

  • Student drop-off begins at 7:50 AM.
  • School starts promptly at 8:10 AM.
  • Breakfast is free for all students. Students who would like breakfast will be directed to the cafeteria upon arrival.
  • To maintain a safe and secure learning environment, families should say goodbye at the gate. District procedures do not allow families to walk students to their classrooms. We appreciate your partnership in helping keep all students safe.

Afternoon Dismissal

  • School ends at 2:40 PM.

Families are an essential part of our school community, and one of our goals this year is to strengthen two-way communication between home and school.

Please make sure you are signed up for ParentSquare. This will be one of our primary communication tools for sharing:

  • School and classroom updates
  • Important reminders
  • Upcoming events
  • Family information and resources

Just as importantly, ParentSquare provides an easy way for families to communicate with teachers and staff. We want communication to go both ways, ensuring you feel informed, connected, and comfortable reaching out whenever you have questions or concerns.

Attendance Matters

One of the most important ways to support your child's success is through consistent, on-time attendance. When students are healthy and able to attend school, every day counts. Each school day provides valuable opportunities to learn, build relationships, and grow.

Open House is October 8

Join us for Open House and take the opportunity to visit your child's classroom, meet staff, and learn more about the exciting learning experiences taking place this year. The hours are 5:00 - 6:30 pm. 

Conferences are November 18-20

Family conferences are a critical opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Our goal is 100% family participation, and we look forward to meeting with every family. Watch for details in November.
