Greetings Idlewild Families,

It has been a wonderful start as principal of Idlewild Elementary School, and I continue to feel honored to serve this vibrant and caring school community. Over the start of this year, I have had the privilege of getting to know our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families.

This year marks my 33rd year in education, and my experiences as principal at Greenwood Elementary, Rainier Elementary, and several middle schools in the Clover Park School District have deepened my commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

I have been inspired by the strong sense of community at Idlewild and by our collective focus on helping every student feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow. I look forward to continuing to build relationships and to partnering with families and staff to make this school year an exceptional one for our Falcons.

Please note the following important dates and information:

• Conferences:
  Parent / Teacher Conferences will be held November 19 – 21. We are going for 100% participation from our families! Watch for details to come from your child’s teacher.
  
  
• School Start Time, Meals, and End Time:
  Students should not be dropped off before 7:50 a.m. Supervision of students begins at 7:50 a.m. Classes start at 8:10 am. Classes end at 2:40 pm.
  
  Breakfast will be served each day at 7:50 AM. Breakfast is free for all students.   
  
  If a student arrives after 8:10 AM, they will need to come to the front office for a tardy slip.   
  
  Lunch is free for all students (although we still need ALL families to complete a Family Income Survey)
  
  
• Late Start Wednesdays:
  
  Most Wednesdays starting in September, school will begin one hour later than usual. Watch the “Parent/Community Calendar” for any changes each month. Wednesday start time is 9:10 AM.
  
  
• Parent / Guests in Office or at School:
  
  All visitors / parents must show identification at our entrance prior to entering. This is a district wide expectation at all schools.
