CENTRAL IDEA: EVENTS PRODUCE CHANGE IN SOCIETIES AND COMMUNITIES.
The creative thinkers in Mr. Brenner, Ms. Nagy, and Mr. Tocher’s classes collaborated to teach Idlewild about taking action during their student-led assembly. In their current unit, 4th graders have been exploring how historical events can impact societies and communities. During the assembly, the students chose to focus on how advancements in technology have produced change. Audience members were shown a timeline detailing the invention of the phone and launch of the internet. Students also composed and performed skits demonstrating how technology has changed the ways in which people communicate. Finally, students shared ideas on how to TAKE ACTION in regards to technology by raising awareness of cyberbullying, click-bait, and identity theft. Kudos to 4th grade!
